What's the big deal about Young Living

Back to School Tips

Here are a few helpful tips to help you get back in the swing of school.

  • I LOVE this idea for organizing homeschool supplies!

  • I am planning on making a few of these preschool work boxes, one for each day of the week, for my 2 and 4 year olds.

What back to school tips can you share?

  1. I love your idea to do a different box for each day for the preschoolers!

Something that helps me with our big crew is to incorporate everyone whenever possible, rather than dividing up for so many subjects. For pretty much everything, except math and upper level science, we all are working together. I have different expectations and requirements for each child, but the teaching and learning part is all together. Even for math, I’ll often have an older one reviewing with a younger one – both of them benefit!

  2. I like the place value chart. I’ll have to remember that one. My two oldest (kindy and pre-k) will follow the same curriculum this year…I’ll just include the pre-k as she’s interested and able to. If she learns most of her letters, shapes, colours, numbers this year, I’ll be satisfied :) The toddler will probably wreak havoc whenever we try to do school, so i have some workbags (kind of like the tot boxes but in big ziplocs) that I can pull out for him. Partway through the year we’ll also have a newborn, but I’m hoping he or she just sleeps….

I’m new at homeschooling so I really don’t have many ideas to share…one “tradition” i started with the kids last year was a back-to-school gift bag on the first day we did school..i put some pencils and crayons and scissors, etc..a colouring book for my then-2yr-old to keep her busy, plus a new (to them) storybook..just because it’s nice to get to open a present :)

  3. I just love organization ideas! Thanks for sharing these. I love the concept of work boxes. I just wish I had space for it.

  4. Great tips! Thanks for sharing. :)
