What's the big deal about Young Living

Springtime on the Farm

Is anyone here old enough to have had a crush on John Denver? Not that I am. Or I did. Or anything. I was just wondering. {ahem}

But if you were that old, you may remember that some of his song lyrics claimed  that "life on the farm is kinda laid back". Yeah. Not so much.

What you can't tell from these pictures is that the brother is just outside the frame trying to convince the pouting 4 year old to join the other girls and pretend to look laid back.

You see, it is tradition in the Texas springtime to get happy photos of all the kiddies amidst the bluebonnets.

Do you know how hard it is to get happy photos of 8 children? During this one the 8 year old was crashing her bike in the gravel right behind me.

Here, she was bawling while the 10 year old was telling her that's what she gets for trying to show off by riding too fast down a hill.

"Mama! Samson is chasing the chickens!"

"Mommy, I forgot to tell you that one of the baby goats somehow got into my room and peed on my bed. (Yes, really.)

"I milked Dovie, but she kicked over the bucket, so we don't have anything to feed Peter."

Lies! John Denver told us LIES!

  1. Totally loved John Denver – still love his songs! :) Still gotta agree that “The life on the farm is the life for me…”! Despite cows, that get out, rogue roosters that attack, and bunnies that destroy the garden! Your pictures are beautiful!

  2. sign B and drag it over your head says:

So….where is the picutre of “the brother” looking laid back in the bluebonnets????

  3. But, the pictures are priceless ~ and adorable!!
You are truly blessed … living a “laid back” life, or not!!!

  4. Jennifer says:

Wow, I love it! :) How about “Mom, Betty(old hen) won’t let Tessy(Young hen) lay her egg!!”
I also had a crush on John Denver……. Thanks for sharing. It made me laugh and brightened my day!

  5. This just cracked me up! John Denver clearly mislead us. The bluebonnets are gorgeous – wish I were in Texas!

  6. The pictures are cut, but that happens when you have cute kids! But I LOVED your commentary about each picture, that is PRICELESS, LOL. I tried to get 8 kids from 15yrs-9months in one picture all just looking at the camera without covering up anyone else’s face at Christmas and failed, 100 tries later I gave up, but we have some interesting family photo’s!

  8. You are such a hoot! I’m going to drive to TX for a play date just so I can experience your life for a day :)

  9. ahahaha!!! Still, I want a little farm too.

  10. Loved this Connie. They’re all so gorgeous. :)
