What's the big deal about Young Living

Interview With a Missionary and Mother of 12

I am so thrilled that I was able to spend some time with The Lockwood Family this week!

I actually "met" Jaynee several years ago through blogging. We have prayed for each other through pregnancies, childbirths, job losses, disappointments, and even life threatening illnesses. She has encouraged us many times over the years, so you can imagine my excitement to actually meet her and her family in real life and hug her neck!

She is even sweeter in person than she seems on her blog, if you can imagine that. PLUS, her entire family is full of fun and laughter and LOVE! I am still giddy over the fact that I talked them into spending a few days with our family!

Here we are together chatting about Mexican food, speaking Spanish, and spending time in God's word. (Email readers will have to click through to see the video.)

  1. Would love to see some of Jaynee’s recipes for how she fixes beans and rice and tortillas. Our family loves them, too, and was just wondering how they like to eat this type of food!

Thanks so much for the great video. I also follow the Lockwood’s blog and love their ministry! Praying for God’s hand of protection while they’re on furlough!

    Have a blessed time together!

  2. Jamie Lander says:

I just love your little video blogs! Being a sahm/homeschooling mom of 3 kids (8, 4, 1), I find your family and Jayne’s family so ENCOURAGING and interesting!! I could have sat here and listened to you all talk all day! =) ~jamie

  3. Great video! We just love the Lockwoods! I did come up with two more questions just in case you are looking for more:)

#1 – What homeschool curriculum do you use?

#2 – Will we be able to send the Christmas boxes to a US address again this year? Do you know when you will be collecting them?

Have a fantastic stay! We can’t wait for more updates!

  4. LOVED the video!! It’s so fun to get to hear & see someone who’s blog you’ve followed for awhile. Thank you Jaynee for answering my question about Mexican food here vs. there, I thought that would probably be the case but I’ve never been there! :O)

  5. Jeri Riddick says:

Connie, I’m so jealous…in a good way…can I bring my 5 and sit and listen to y’all? You both seem so easy going.
Jaynee, my dd Jani (adopted from China at 13m, now 7) just learned that Janie is usually spelled with an e at the end. She’s going to love that yours is spelled differently too.
I want to piggyback off of a previous comment about rice. We love rice and been (and cheese!) tortillas, but I’m guessing your rice is from scratch like you said. Can you tell us how to make good Mexican rice? I’ve tried a few recipes and they aren’t great, neither are the box mixes.

  6. Oh, how I enjoyed listening to the children sing! Thank you ever so much for posting that video!

Your interview with Jaynee was encouraging. She seems so relaxed. That is something I need to work on . We have 6 children & homeschool. I am a bit stressed each day. visiting your site and hearing how other Mom’s do it is encouraging. I appreciate you serving God and helping all of us Mom’s out in internetland!
