What's the big deal about Young Living

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Those of you who are fans of Smockity Frocks on Facebook know that a while back, after a doctor's appointment for a very cranky baby with an ear infection, I waited in line at Walmart for an interminable amount of time for a prescription that I found out was waiting for me at Walgreens.

I was not altogether happy that I had told the nurse that I have my prescriptions filled at Walmart, and she said, "Walgreens?", and I told her, "No WalMART" and then she went ahead and sent the prescription to WalGREENS.

But, while I was at Walgreens waiting for the prescription, grinching to myself about things going in one ear and out the other and talking to the wind, ("Do you think I am saying these things for my OWN HEALTH?") I browsed around and noticed that the Walgreens Brand Health & Wellness Products I saw listed the same ingredients as the major name brands for a fraction of the cost.

I was particularly interested in the allergy section because we have a bunch of allergy sufferers in The Smockity Bunch and for almost every name brand allergy medication, Walgreens has a comparable version with the same active ingredients. PLUS, in the Walgreens flier, a lot of times you can find a buy 1 get 1 free sale. Like this week, Wal-phed PE, and Wal-dryl eye itch relief are buy 1 get 1 FREE.

In addition to providing great values, Walgreens donates 3 million dollars annually to  Walgreens Way to Well Fund™, which provides free tests and other services to local communities.

And have you seen Money Saving Mom's Walgreens deals tutorial? She shows you how to shop at Walgreens and save tons of money and each week in her Walgreens deals section, she updates on which products you can match with coupons for little or NO cost!

If you have a Walgreens in your town, be sure to check out the deals AND this list of bloggers who are holding giveaways for Walgreens gift cards!

  1. Walgreens brand of diapers are awesome! A few years back they had an awesome sale and I snagged a ton of diapers for a super great price.

  2. Many times Walgreens beats Walmart prices by alot. I stopped shopping at Walmart because of that.

  3. Hi Connie. Just an FYI – If you have several Smockities (sp?) with allergies I recomend the Walgreens brand of Zyrtec. With Zyrtec you take 1 pill a day to prevent allergy problems. So it is wonderful for allergy season (or for all the time if you are allergic to the dog you live with like I am!). It is usually included in the B1G1 sales AND my Walgreens will accept Zyrtec coupons for their generic. You can also sometimes find coupons in their monthly coupon books.

My husband is a manager at Walgreens! *thumbs up* Thanks for helping support our livelihood! 😉

My husband has worked for Walgreens for 11 years! We’ve been together 10 of that 11. Once he pointed that out to me, I haven’t looked back on buying name brand. Consumer Reports did a comparison and found that the Waglreens brand actually performed better than the name brands! :) My favorite product is the sunscreen spray. Sign-up (if you already haven’t) to get your local weekly ad delivered via e-mail and when they have the friends & family discount days, you’ll be notified via e-mail. You’ll get a coupon enabling you to save 15% on your entire purchase and 20% off Walgreens brand products :) It’s always nice to hear when a company does good instead of what it does wrong.
