What's the big deal about Young Living

Upcoming Fun!

There are some exciting things coming soon here at Smockity Central!

  • On a certain, undisclosed day this very week, in my Blog Frog community, FOR ONE DAY ONLY, there will be a multi-prize giveaway with multiple chances to enter! The prizes will include an adorable stuffed animal, a t-shirt, a premium Blog Frog membership, $40 in Amazon gift cards, and a handy dandy oilcloth apron.   If you do not like prizes and chances to win free stuff, by all means DO NOT check my Blog Frog community!
  • 4 Moms, 35 Kids is returning with a bang! On Thursday, August 5th, we will resume our weekly posts with an "Open House". Each of us (The Common Room, Life in a Shoe, Raising Olives, and Yours Truly) will be posting pictures of our homes. We will begin with the entry and outside to welcome you into our homes, and YOU ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE, TOO!  There will be a linky on each of our blogs so you can link up your entry/outside photos as well.
  • In honor of World Breastfeeding Week next week, and because I am going on my 8th year of breastfeeding, I'll be posting some tips and links to help breastfeeding mothers have a successful experience.

What else would you like to see at Smockity Frocks? Are there any features or series you would enjoy reading here?

  1. Fun, fun!

  2. I just have to ask, when you say “eighth year of breastfeeding”, do you ever feel the need to specify “not the same child, of course”? I nursed for nine consecutive years and whenever I say that, people sort of back-up a bit and tip their head, as if I’m saying that I nursed my 10 year old for 9 years. Certainly not. I have more than one child and we nursed longer than the typical 6 months or 1 year, but not the same child for 9 years! Do you ever get strange looks or is it just me? 😉

    • Smockity Frocks says:

@Chick Hatchers, Oh my lands! This made me bust out laughing! I had never thought of it that way!

I’m sure I am oblivious to at least half of the strange looks I get.

  3. In connection with your breastfeeding post, do you have any suggestions on how to explain breastfeeding to a toddler? I’m going to have my 2nd child in a few weeks and know that I will need to discuss the topic of nursing with my oldest daughter who is almost 3 (and has a very good vocabulary). What have you done to discuss it in child friendly terms without having them tell every stranger in the store about you nursing the baby.

  4. That open house sounds like a lot of fun. I look forward to your upcoming posts!
