This week, I was invited, along with a few other bloggers, to attend a cooking demonstration at Save-a-Lot food store with Chef Tim Love, whose claim to fame (at least in our family) is "in May 2007, Love appeared on the Food Network’s 'Iron Chef America' in a victorious 'Chile' battle against Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto." (I'm the lumpy one, front and center.)
We consider it prime entertainment to watch Iron Chef America to see if anyone can emerge a victor against the any of the famous "Iron Chefs" (as if you needed confirmation that we are indeed weird), so I knew this was an opportunity I didn't want to turn down.
Chef Love was friendly and chatty. There was a fourth grade class there to observe his demonstration, and he patiently took questions from the children and even called a volunteer to assist him.
Save-a-Lot then donated $1,000 (plus the ingredients to make Chef Love's chile) to a charity that feeds the hungry in my area.
I enjoyed myself and met a few new bloggers. Spiderman was even there!
He got a little restless after a while. I feel ya, Spidey. Sometimes a super hero has got to relax!
I even brought back a goody for one of my readers!
Save-a-Lot provided me with $30 in gift cards to give away to one of you! And if you don't believe you can "Save-a-Lot" just check out what I spotted while I was there!
